Quick tip for giving your dog liquid medicine
This is a quick tip to help make you giving your dog liquid medicine a lot easier! If you have ever had to give your dog liquid medicine before you will know how difficult it is, you probably get more on you then down your dogs throat. If you have never done this before your in for a treat, you normally have to administer the liquid through a plastic syringe, in order to do this you will have to coax your dog to: a) keep still;
b) keep its mouth open long enough for you to squirt the liquid medicine into the back of the dogs mouth;
c) try to get your your dog from coughing or spitting the medicine back up again. This for us used to be a two man job! We have to struggle with a 65lb hyper-active Old English Sheep Dog "puppy"! However those days are over - we simply buy our dog a can of dog food. Remove the lid, and then insert the syringe about two thirds of the way into the food, slowly remove the syringe as your let the medicine out into the center of the food. Now serve up the dog food as normal, unless your dog is an extremely picky eater they should devour it - voila, your dog does not get stressed out by the ordeal, your not covered in medicine and your dog actually gets the dosage they need! Hope that works for you as it does for us!
